Today the literary world has lost one of its icons, J.D. Salinger.  As the author of The Catcher in the Rye, Mr. Salinger was one of the first writers to capture teenage angst, alienation, and disallusionment with society.  With his hero, Holden Caufield, he created the total embodiment of America’s youth and their search for more.  And even though he did not find it, I’m sure Holden’s quest not only inspired but provided solace for many.
